ok i bought the FC and the guy told me it is a C's short shifter. it feels good since i never felt what the stock shifter feels like! but my problem is that i can't get the stock shifter to sit right on it. it doesn't grab the thread the stock shifter **** is way to big for the short shifter. does anyone else have that problem? i don't want to go buy some ugly **** from advance auto!

Maybe you've got an S4 **** and an S5 shifter? (different thread patterns)

I got a Miata shift ****, under $3 at a junk yard. They fit nice and are nice and short (as opposed to the joystick-like stock ****).

yeah if you have an 86 to 88 model car then your stock shifter **** wont fit on a short shifter... all those companies making short shifters for the fc only make then so they will fit the 88 to 91 models because they have the same size thread as a lot of aftermarket shift *****... i have a fidanza short shifter and had to call the company and ask why mine wouldnt fit.... just gotta get a new shift ****...

Mazdatrix actually sells short shifters for both series. I bought an S4 shifter, then an ended up learning that there aren't any aftermarket ***** that fit it. So I ended up re-threading a voodoo **** to fit it.

I bought a cheap "T" handle shift **** and it came with several threaded adapters included so that you could fit it to any shift lever you might have. I put the adapter on my Mazdatrix short shift lever and the **** fit right on perfectly. Check the packaging of the **** you might buy to see if it includes threaded adapters.
