I installed an 87 engine when i did my engine swap. My old engine had a nipple coming from just under the Radiator cap (thermostat housing) the nipple went from there to the coolant over flow tank (near front bumber)

I no longer have this nipple.. and have been driving the car for about 2 months now.. in hot florida traffic, everyday. Do i NEED this nipple? Someone said i did. WHat happens when you do not have the overflow system installed?

Thanks. Markus

well if it gets too hot you might bust the water jacket from too much pressure or blow the rad or something i guess

just get a rad cap housing with the nipple

Yeah, my old motor is sitting at my mech. shop. I have to get ahold of him.. Just should i be worried about it busting?? I've been driving for 2 months now and it hasnt yet. so there's no reason i should RUSH..

But i just wanted to know if it was a needed item. I'll get one. (my old one)

Thanks. Markus
