Car is a 1990 N/A 5speed. I just did a engine swap. now after 20 minutes the car engine light turns on and the car starts to run slugish after about 3500+ RPM. I have changed the air flow meter, and fuel pump opening relay under the dash. The car turns on fine. it runs good all the way till the engine light turns on. Now the codes i got where 17-feedback system for 02 sensor. 23-fuel thermo sensor. 27-Metering oil pump. I have ran the car for about 3 days like this after installing the engine. What you guys think? i really dont know what do the parts that all the codes gave me are. I need to know whats their job. Is there a place where i can find the definition to these parts. Please HELP me!!!!!! hope i gave enough info.

Thanks

Download the FSM from that website (www.fc3s.org).

The Code 17 isn't too serious. Fail safe cancels the feedback system so you probably will get crappy mileage when cruising (fuel mixture is leaned out when cruising). In my experience, the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp, fancy for Check Engine light) tends to come on after cruising for awhile and stay on till I shut the car off.

Metering Oil Pump is pretty complex, but NEEDS to be dealt with. Read the manual yourself. Basically the MOP injectsoil into the combustion chamber and intake manifold for proper lubrication of the apex seals. If you do a search for metering oil pump or premix, I'm sure you'll get lots of hits.

I can't find any reference to a Fuel Thermosensor in my 1991 FSM. Or code 23.

Hmm, I'm not too sure. I know the Series 4 FSM is online at another site, but I think that's the only place for the Series 5.

Sounds like problem with elec OMP. ON s5 engine, if there is a problem wit hthe omp the ecu goes into limp mode and you can't rev past 3.5k around there. Check your wiring to the omp or swap out the omp for the old one you had.
