I cracked up my center console (told it a good joke), and it's basically destroyed. I kinda like not having it there, except for the 2 holes in the carpet, and the electric rear view mirror adjustor switch. I want to relocate the switch, or fabricate a base for it, minus the armrest. I'm not sure about materials, or difficulty. I am programmed to automatically think of ways to fab out of wood. Your input is much appreciated.

ok, back to the issue, you can get that ABS plastic whereever the sell electronics supplies or stereo installation stuff.. It is easy to work with too..

or fab a new one out of wood and rewrap it..

rewrap it? I would sand and buff it smooth as owl **** and stain it so I could have some mahogany wood trim in my not-so-luxurious ride

but what is abs plastic like? is it something you heat and mold?

it can be heat molded.. You know that black plastic that they sell with head unit installation kits? well its that stuff.. usually it is about 1/8" thick.. and can be heated and bent and it will keep the shape once it cools..

cool...does that require a heat gun, or can a blow dryer do the job?

(and if you get a chance, how about some help on the tb mod pinned thread )

Sorry me stupid when it comes to RX7 stuff, my repu is my first rotary.. I think a heat gun would work better, I doubt the blow dryer will produce engoue heat, maybe enough to make small bends but not sharp angles...
