been trying to figure it out makin me sad =( miss my car. Basically i took the engine out (long story) changed the front and back seals cleaned it but didnt take it apart. Got a new water pump and changed all the vacuum lines. I got it put back together and it wouldnt start it i changed the ecu and it tried to start so i changed the plugs and i got it started but it wouldnt start with out flooring the gas and coxing the start to keep spinning while the rpms rose tell it could keep its self up. I took it out for a drive and couldnt get over 35 mph think its the clutch because it was full of oil in the tranny cleaned that. stupid me turned it off and I havent been able to get it started again right now it tries to start fires up to 2k then dies and only does this with starting fluid. very strange.

Damn, That is wierd.. Maybe it is flooded.. You did get the right plugs right? leading on the bottom, trailing on top.. Sounds dumb, but it will make a difference..

i figure its firing ok since it fires up to 2k, it kinda looks like a air intake issue but thats fine too. Only thing weird was i turn it this last time it started running and after about 10 mins there was some whitegray smoke comming from the vents by the windshield no where else but the alternator was really hot.

Hm.. That is very odd.. Did you get the right ECU? Maybe a bad electrical connection? Did the old ECU work before the swap?
