burnt out Leading stock coil...
#1
ok, finally found out why the car all of a sudden starting sound like it was broken...
leading coil is getting no spark. so car was running and suprisingly idling with just the traling plugs.
im looking for a dual tower coil similar to the stock one for easy installation. i have the FC1000 ignition box hooked up to it...so compatibility with that is a must. and im pretty sure thats why it burnt out...
suggestions on coil???

pretty sure it will just burn out also. i have a spare one sitting here too...i think the FC1000 puts to much through it. cause it only took 2 days to burn it out. and its hooked up 100% correct.. plus, at best...the stock coil is from 91 at the newest. thats 17 years, atleast! time to replace.
so it looks like im going to be going with two Jacobs C-4 coils ane two FC1000's to power them.
after installing the one FC1000 on the stock leading coil, the car ran better than ever. a much cleaner idle and started up quicker too (not tuned fully yet).
so with the added c-4 coils and fc1000, im pretty sure it will be some heavy sparking action going on...

disconnect the fc1000 and it might run fine..
my fc 1000 died on me.. my car was running great, then all of the sudden i wasnt getting any spark to my leading coils. i disconnected it and the car ran fine again.. to bad the thing had to die..
just a suggestion.. :/

wow...that sucks.
i had mine mounted in the back. so maybe the wires were to thin for that many feet of wire. it was only popping the fuses. after i move it to the front, we'll see how it goes.
did you get your money back???

so everything is hooked up once again, but in the front now. except for the POS and NEG to the battery from the FC1000...
instead of running it to the battery. couldnt i just ground it to where the motor ground is on strut tower. and put the POS to the power from the fuse box. where the main fuse gives power. or another 12V source...
reason being, my battery is in the passenger side bin. i moved it up front to shorten all the wires. running the waire to the battery way in the back would make this all i bit waste of time.
