There's still compression on the other side of the rotor housings, just no spark.
BTW, I don't know what bump starting is, but I do know that with the plugs out, you still have compression in the system.
Man, that took me a long time to type with all the mistakes I had to correct.

That's what "bump start" means to me,ie:
Your car is dead, no power to turn it over so your push it until you have some speed them drop the clutch to engage to motor.

I always though pushing your car and dropping the clutch was PUSH STARTING? Bump start, hmm, I know if you 'bump' the starter to get the engine to turn over only a tiny bit to check things, thats what I always called bump start.
