THE BEST MODS FOR ANY GENERATION RX-7 IS TO CONCENTRATE ON SUSPENSION AND BRAKING. THERES NO POINT IN HAVING A FAST CAR WITH TURBO AND THE WHOLE NINE IF YOU CANT CONTROL IT. ALWAYS USE TOCIKO STRUTS AND I RECOMMEND RACING BEAT SPRINGS WHICH GIVE YOU A 1 INCH DROP AND RACING BEAT FRONT AND REAR SWAY BARS. THESE I BELIVE ARE THE BEST AND ECONOMIC MODS. THEN YOU CAN ADD INTAKE, HEADERS AND AN EXHAUST SO THAT YOU HAVE SOME NOTICEABLE MODS..

Who cares about controlling it...I'm throwing this turbo beast into my SE model w/ SE brakes and SE suspension...we all know that SE models have the weakest suspension from the factory...hell, as long as I go in a straight line faster then the other guys, its all good!





Seriuosly though, suspension is on my list...but its not as important to me as power at this point...Rx7s handle fine from the factory, maybe later I'll build an SCCA spec car or something...

That's my thinking. I want to go fast at the strip. It's pretty straight. I don't do any (much?) crazy **** on the street, and the TII already handles way better than anything I've ever driven. And those 4-piston calipers aren't too shabby either. Gimme POWER!

I wish I had 4 piston brakes, lol.

Yes brakes are awesome stock, I read about a 9-second FC running stock brakes and they were warning him about not using a parachute. I have started some of the suspension, because not all roads on the street car straight.

Well...once I can get into the turns faster, I'll worry about taking them faster, lol....





BTW...anybody see about those new TEIN springs???? Are they available for the FCs yet..I haven't looked.

I have to disagree somewhat here. Yes, the FC handles very well from the factory. But how many FC's have factory fresh suspensions these days? On my car, if it was made of rubber it turned into tar long ago. Sloppy stuff. I wanted suspension before power when I bought this car, but I wound up geting power first because of what has been going on with my car over the years. I take care of problems with the attitude of: Why fix it when you can upgrade it? I went for power and it totally outclassed the worn out old suspension very quickly. At autocross with all my power I was fighting the car more than I was driving it. With the suspension almost all done, it's a different story. This car now handles 100x better and it is soooooooo much more predictible. It does what I want it to do. Go with the suspension and you'll see.



I thought it was good before, but I didn't know any better before.



FC Turbo2 brakes (and similar brakes on other models) are very good. A good set of pads, fresh rotors, fresh fluid, and some stainless steel lines should be all you need.

yah, i agree with jerk, i had the 3 rotor in my car with the 165,000mile stock suspension, not the way to go
