ok, so apparently the guy i bought this 88 n/a from had recently changed the clutch and tranny. I've had it for a few weeks, and I can't figure out where to plug the backup/5th gear switch. The FSM has no information, just tells you what the plug is.

Does it go somewhere under the center console? Through the shifter hole?

thanks for the help.

ok,

there are no diagrams in the manuals (Mazda FSM or Haynes) that show which wires match up. All the diagrams tell you what the wire is, yet none show you how to hook it up.

sorry, its just that the guy who put the tranny back in b4 he sold it to me, was stupid and left it there because the wires are torn, and just hanging under the car (getting worse). I'll take pics tommorrow to show you guys whats up with my wonky wires.

p.s. I read the other thread, didn't help me.

Can anybody help? My camera needs to be charged (prehistoric), and I'd like to fix the wires b4 I get off to work tonight.

Like I said, there's two white connectors, and about three ripped wires. Next to the white connectors, there is a blue crimp-style connector. Maybe I don't understand how to fix it because the wires are all f*cked up, and there are supposed to be white connectors there to match the others...
