Question

Ok heres the problem... first I have a 86 AT with a blown water seal bandaided with good old CRC Block weld running cherry but everytime I put the peddle to the floor in drive ie 3 it downshifts to 2nd spinning the motor to god only knows, no matter what speed I am going....... and if i go through the gears with my foot to the floor ie from a stand still it will not upshift to 3rd it just sticks at 7 grand, it will not shift unless I letout more than half way out. Any help would be good... hopefully before I blow the motor ......

sounds like the throttle posistions sensor/ cable for the tranny is stuck in the high position making the tranny assume you have the pedal floored. that doesn't explain not shifting into 3rd, but it could be a related problem

look at the vacume lines!!! Sounds like a cracked or poped off vacume line. Look at all vac. lines going to sensors ect. ALL OF 'EM!!! :bigthumg:
