Altenator Belt Trouble
#1
Has anybody experienced trouble with their alt belts breaking? I'm on my third one since May. The first on lasted until about the beginning of Dec, the second until last week. They seem to be baked. I'm using Dayco Top Cog, which I've always thought to be a good brand. I replaced all four belts in May when I first got the car, and all the rest seem to be holding up just fine. Altenator seems to turn free, and the belt look to be running straight and true. Any help will be greatly appreciated. 90 Turbo II, btw. Thanks

OOOH! I know! Make sure that the alternator is on right. When the previous owner of my car put the alternator on my car, he put the spacer in the wrong place. What i mean by spacer is the mounting (pivot) bolt. If you take off your alternator you'll know what I mean.
Anyway, the P/o put the spacer infront of the alt and I was breaking belts bi-monthly.
