I just hooked up an autometer procomp electrical water temp gauge. I mounted the sending unit in the stock location. The thing is that is cycles between 180 to sometimes as high as 250. I have not done anything but drive the car around the block because my laptop does not have a battery and I have no way of knowing what is going on with the temp. Am I seeing strange temps because the gauge sending unit is not in the waterpump housing like I am used to? Thanks,

Andy

I guess I should have specified that by laptop I meant hooking up the laptop to the Haltech. It does have a new thermostat. I think the wiring is okay. The coolant is new but it may be full of bubbles. Thanks for the suggestions I will troubleshoot some more.
