91 Gxl Keeps Blowing 15a Illumination Fuse
#1
Yo guys i have a 91 GXL and my 15amp illumination fuse keeps blowing... the result is my gauge lights, all cockpit lights, and parking lights die until i replace the fuse (which blows shortly after) when i had my S4 turboII, the headlight switch plug ran hot and i had to replace that ground wire to keep the illumination circuit going, so i checked that out on my series5 to no avail.
so my question is, what the hell could be blowing my 15A fuse? i wouldnt even know where to start to figure out where the short is, but i was hoping maybe some of you have had this problem. its not the headlight switch plug, its the 15A "illum" fuse. BTW i cant drive at night so this is kinda important
EDIT: haha it seems i may need to update my sig...

Well, I have had that similar problem, it turned out to be a wire behind my cd player was touching metal causing it to blow my illimination fuse. also put a new fuse in and wiggle the fuse see if it is a connection where your fuse plugs in. double check any after market wires you have hot wired somewhere.

put in a 30 amp fuse
=)
j/k
i woudl start uplugging or disconnecting anything that is not stock.
Stereo, gauges, any thing like that.
if that doens't solve it you will have to start poking around with a voltmeter on the harness plugs

Where have you been latley? didn't you have the T2 that caught fire? have you been using another form?
haha yeah that was me. i've been on rx7club.
anyways, i found the problem. soemthing that had to do with the dimmer for my cd player. the wire wasnt exposed, but i just disabled the dimmer and it works fine now...
