I found a 90' gtu with a bad motor, the guy wants to sell it but he has no idea what he wants? How much should I offer him? the whole car is close to mint, red, black interior, that silly wing on the back and goofy holes in the mirrors, moon roof <_< . I want to build a good auto x car out of it.

If it's in very good shape then maybe $1000-1500.

ok, if he doesn't know what he wants for it, he doesn't know what it is worth, this means, offer him about $300, explain to him that the motor must be "replaced" this frightens most people, and he obviously doesn't know about rx7's then, take the remaining 1200, and build the thing up some, you people and your spending way too much money when you don't have to. sheesh.

if he finds out how much the car is worth, then maybe he wont get the car. better to play it safe

Like the others said 1500-1000 is about right for a nice car. So I would offer him 700 for it. That way its kind of a deal for you and not that bad for him.

Offer him $500, you can always offer more $ if he turns you down.
