1986 RHD Mazda RX7 2JZ Turbo Build
Hi my name is Joe Maddox, I've been building rotary engines and RX7 cars for a little over 15 years now. I bought my 1st RX7 In 1999.
I have always wanted to build a 2jz. Now that the rotary engine is on its way out ,parts are getting hard to find And everybody's getting cut throat, I decided to go ahead and get started on this project.
I have an extra right hand drive front clip from a 1991 Mazda RX7. I also just picked up in 1986 base model non sunroof Mazda RX7. It was a previous track car, the owner had put a small block Chevy V8 into it. The race team had taken out the roll cage that was welded in and they had cut up the core support for aftermarket radiators. So the car was already cut up and ready to do a conversion for the track.
I found a nice sc300 I would like to look into for the motor, and I will be using eBay, forums, Amazon and my local craigslist in hopes to find everything I will need to make a 5 speed Turbo.
I have built many cars like this before just none of them were 2jz. This is my last right hand drive conversion project it turned out very well.
I would love to see all of the previous people who have built 2jz FC rx7s. I've poked around in I have found quite a few build threads, I would be intrested in hearing what the community thinks was the cleanest for most successful build.

Started on the rhd conversion. I did not have the original cross member, only the rack and pinion, so I'm going to have to create a new cross member from 2 old ones. I started mocking up in cleaning up the to cross members to make the right hand drive cross member for the conversion.
