13B Jet Boat Project
#1
Hi, I have a fun winter project, and have a few questions you smart rotory folks can help me with. The project is my 15' boat I have a jet drive installed and will be driving it with a 13b motor.
I have bought (2) bad 13b motors, picking the best parts from each to make one good motor. Motor #1 rear rotor through an apex and chewed the rotor housing up bad. Motor #2 front rotor through an apex and chewed the rotor housing up bad. the remaining good? rotor housings have this groove in a couple sections.
Question #1. Are these rotor housings reuseable, or are they crap? See next 2 Pictures
Question #2. If they are junk, can I use turbo housings on this non turbo motor without an issue? only difference I notice is exhaust is more open.
Thanks, Joe

Those housings are trashed. AFAIK, you'll have no issues using turbo rotor housings with the N/A engine. Everything i have done thus far has been turbo's. Hopefully someone with N/A engine experience speaks up on this issue.
Swweeetttt project BTW.

I love your project! I am a newbie at this site, and it seems to be dedicated to cars.
I too am doing a 13B boat project over the winter. I have a 1972 Mark Twain V-Sonic I/O that originally had a Mercruiser 90. I swapped that out for a 2.5 liter GM powered Mercruiser 120 in 1999. Pretty good performance but I want more, so I am installing a 13B that has been marinized and supercharged, mated to the Mercruiser Alpha I/O. I think the little 15' should scoot around pretty well with it. Should make about 300HP when I am done.
I would love to see the progress on your project!
