88 Not Starting

Need Help!!!
Description: Over the course of two weeks, dash lights would not light up until after driving about 10 minutes. Then TACH did not work for about two days. Final while starting up last day got a buzzer with no indicator light lit. Tach would not work and after 6 miles I stopped and then made a turn. Car started jerking (like to much gas or not enough) then died after about 1/2 mile. Sat for 20 minutes it started up then went about 5 miles and died totally and would not turn over again. Turn the ignition and it turns but no cranking. Believe it to electrical in nature but I am not a great mechanic. Please advise if possible.

My 87 starting do the same thing about a week ago, and then thur it quit running altogether... i dont get any cluster lights when the key is in on the on pos... any ideas on that? thanx for any help...
refer to thread i made... i just had problems with my ignition switch...... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/index.php?...ignition+switch
if you try to turn the key to on.. you dont get any lights like the ADD COOLANT, check engine light etc (where the digital clock is)... but then you can turn on your lights and it would light up fine....
its either the ignition switch or the ignition cylinder. i havent really diagnosed which one is defective but its definitely one of the two.
might have to clean the inside of ignition switch and regrease it...
if you can, try to take out your ignition cylinder and lightly tap on your ignition switch and then try to start your car. hopefully ur lights will turn on and you will be able to start your car. good luck and let us know if this is the fix
