Flapper style?
I may end up rebuilding my other 13B sooner than I thought. It depends on what Santa brings me.

I'm trying to decide whether my freshly rebuilt R5 13B should go into it, or into the white REPU. The weather is typical December weather around here, so I'd rather work in the garage. I also ordered an upper manifold for my 20B. It should be here in a couple weeks. I've gotta pull the 20B back out of the GLC in order to test fire it, but I've gotta leave the engine in it so I'll know what needs to be modified for it to fit in the GLC. I'll test fire it after the manifold is modded.
In all, it seems like the best move right now is to try to install the 13B into the REPU and start porting the next other one (I've got two R5 13Bs hehe) so it can eventually go into my red REPU. In the meantime, the 20B will be out of the GLC so I can wheel it outside and test fire it while I'm rebuilding the 2nd R5 13B.
On top of that, I'm planning out a single rotor 12A or 13B.
Oh yeah, I also got a replacement starter for my Cosmo. I need some nice weather for a little while to install it. Snow ain't fun to lay on. Well, it can be, but not while you're holding swapping a rather heavy starter.

Here's a thread describing the one rotor idea. http://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.ph...threadid=256105
No. I'm getting my old one back. I figured I'd need to mod it no matter which manifold I got, and I also didn't want to seperate Dragon's set.

So you have a Stocker lower intake then?Cool. Why a FWD rotary? The exhaust alone would be a pain in my *** alone.Even tho I think the early VW's might accept a 13b like a early rabbit or rocco.Remember they are a 4 bolt bellhousing like the bugs were too.I remember that off my 81 EFI rabbit I had.Anything is possible with VW tho.Heres a example. http://www.cwstuning.com/gallery/coupe-degolf

Yeah, I kept my stock LIM because I was going to originally run a box plenum with it. That idea wouldn't work, so I'm luckily able to still get my stock UIM back. If only I would have known back then. If I had last year to do over, I'd do a few things different to save tons of time and money, and still arrive at the same end goal.
A FWD rotary is a serious challange. It may be more difficult than a 20B in a GLC. It's the next step in my learning curve. I'd also like to build a single rotor engine and maybe stick it in the FWD car.
That VW stuff may be the right type of FWD to try first. You say it uses the four bolt/stud pattern of the older aircooled engines? Seriously? Oh man, that means I could get a Kennedy adaptor and be good to go. That would be an excellent first FWD project for me because the failure rate would be lower. There is also a bug speed shop within walking distance of my house. Wow, a V8 Golf. I'd probably look for a '78 or '79 Rabbit.

If I can remember right the A1 watercooled Vw's had a 4 bolt bellhousing. But last time I owned one was about 4 years ago.Maybe check a autowrecker and look at a tranny first before you go and buy a car.
