:bow: WILL MY 1987 S4 MANUAL GEAR BOX FIT STRAIGHT ON TO A 20B OR DO I HAVE TO MODIFY THE BOX IF SO WHAT DO I DO TO IT

yeah it will fit( with 1/2 bolt didn't line up)

btw i don't think it's strong enought for 20b

not even a turbo ii trans, if you run hard

my t2 tranny has been fine for over a year , depends on how much power you're making

yur gunna half tuh fine sum'n what cuhn wedl on alumumin so'n thuh trasmnition cuhn fit on wit 5 or 6 botls adn tue 4 thuh startor wil fit.

Oh ok. Basically, any S4 tranny will fit a 20B with only 5 bolts out of 6. It's ok to just use only 5. It's what most of us are forced to do without some sort of welding (but I'd never have anyone weld on my bellhousing). The only problem with the NA S4 trannies is that they aren't as strong as TII trannies fromt he same years. I think S5 trannies are the same as S4, and again, the TII model is the better choice regardless of year.



As for me, I'm using an NA tranny out of a CD Cosmo, but it's the ribcase design which is pretty close to the TII trannies in strength (probably), so I should be fine with an NA 20B.
