I don't think any of us have ever heard of an exhaust plate before. Could you substitute plate for a different word? For instance, I've heard of exhaust ports, exhaust sleeves etc.

Let's just "assume" that he's talking about the exhaust sleeves No, they cannot be removed without taking the engine apart. There's a little trick Judge Ito posted about removing the pins from the side of the housings (must take engine apart). Hopefully it wasn't lost when the server was raided. Do a search and if it doesn't turn up, I'll post a writeup. I used his method and it worked well!

Thank you guys! I was working on my engine yesterday and got one of the exhaust sleeves out without taking the engine apart. I just drilled the pins out without damaging the housing. Its very tidious work but it can be done.. I just didnt want to take a perfectly working engine all apart. If youre wondering why I took the sleeves out its because in japan they install these sleeves as restrictor plates for the exhaust flow. The 20b exhaust port are very similar to the ones on old school 12a,, not good...The exhaust sleeves are simply to small for the exhaust gases to escape when making 450 hp or more causing the rotor to simply just melt.

Doesn't make any sense about the 20b sleeves being smaller than the 12a ones. Somebody loading you with crap info? Do you know how small a 12a port is?

How do you know that the NASCAR style exhaust restrictor plates were installed in Japan. Maybe they don't want you to go fast! So why dont you also change the rotor cams. Doing the restrictor plate alone won't make that much HP, you have to do both at the same time.

A valve lube job is also necessary.

ha ha ha Very funny!! Do you own a 20b and if you do how much power are you making? Thats what i thaught. Have you ever compared a 20b exhaust port to a 12a side by side. i dont think so. who the hell watches nascar anyways. So take your cams and valves and stick em

Boost creep, the ports on the 20b exhaust sleeves are small and a common upgrade is to replace them with TII exhaust sleeves because they have larger exhaust ports.
