Default Whining noise, loss of power, need help

While I'm driving my 82 gsl around sometimes I can hear a whining noise when I hit about 3500 to 4000 rpms, with a substantial loss of power. I changed the oil, oil filter, and plugs a week ago. The whining noise has been coming and going for a while now. Any info helps, thanks. Dane

If the whining noise is associated when the car is moving, then that could be the transmission itself.

You may have to take the tranny case cover off in order to find out. I'm just speaking from my experience with my FC, not sure if it's similar case with the FB.

Check the tranny oil, change it if you haven't and put in good ones out there (I use Redline 75W90), and also use some of those transmission treatment stuff. Hopefully that helps.

A&m going to change the tranny oil this week hopefully tomorrow. Over the last couple days it's been taking a while to start, I don't know when the coils or distributor was replaced but I know I should replace them anyway. Any thoughts about the starting issues? Thanks
