Trouble Starting
#1
short story guys last week i purchased the car. got a new battery for it. everythiing ran fine till yesterday & it just decided to sit there and not start. first it wanted to turn over but after hte 2nd click nothing happened not even the stereo didnt come on. do you think it could be the starter or alternator causing the battery to go dead for not charging it? thanks for the help

Radios don't draw much juice. If it wanted to turn over the first time, but even the stereo wouldn't work the second time, I'd check your battery connections. Make sure they're clean and tight.
If the battery really is run down, then I'd check the alternator.

Don't rule out the starter...mine would kick on and off randomly...crawl under and tap on starter...specifically the solenoid thingy on it (smaller of the 2 round canisters)
then try to start it again...if its your starter it should do something
on mine you would turn the key and get totally nothing...sometimes the carb would make noise...but usually nothing
I also wouldn't rule out the aging cables on the car...got some for mine cuz I'm afraid they might have cooked with my new battery
old one didn't have much umph
hope I can help some
oh...and um...see if your headlights will go up and down
if not then check your "fuseable links"
a small box with 3 "links" (short wires with a plug on each end)
can't miss it...just follow the cable attached to your alternator to the box
