It doesnt say in the manual, but do I crank the engine while I check the coil resistance or do I just turn on the ignition???

I checked it while it was running and I got no reading. How can it run if the coils arent working?? If I take the wire boot off the coil---it sparks.

Am I doing this right, sometimes the Manual just doesnt cover things like this enough.

Last I checked, when taking ANY resistance measurement... Part one is ensuring there is no power applied to what you're measuring resistance on.

yea that a good way for **** up you voltmeter. unfortunately Reading from the coil don't mean that your coil is good always. if you in doubt get the JACOBS COILs its about 40 bucks and its puts a foot in the **** of it's competitors.
