I have a couple of questions about upgrading my exhaust on my 82 GSL. I was thinking about buying the RB High performance system which includes Header, pre-silencer, and muffler. They also have one that is $100 bucks more for ported engines, but they say that it will work fine with non-ported engines. Would the second system be better to buy than the first? Or would it yeild the same performace as the first since I don't have the porting?

I was wondering about how much HP the upgraded system will produce?

I have no experience with Racing Beat products, but what I have gathered from other people and this forum is that their products are of good quality.

The one that is collected near the muffler will work better.

 

drop the pre silencer and dont go any larger than 2.5 inch tube.the header is mint and all together you should see a gain on hp no less than 25 or 30 horse.that is from manifold ,pre silencer and 2 inch to headerwith 2.5 exhaust and a nice high flow muffler.you wont be disapointed at all it will be the best money you mill have ever spnt on your rex.you will fall in love with it all over again.
