<_< MY question is this I'm in the process of buying an 85 GSL SE but the oil pressure gauge reads 0 most of the time but if you hit a pothole or something it goes up for a few seconds then back down again to zero.



I believe it to be a short somewhere but I don't know where to look can someone help the car seems to have good oil pressure an sounds fine but the gauge reads bad.



I have heard all the rumors about the 7's having terrible gauges is this whatmy problem is where is the oil pressure sending unit at?



I would appreciate any help with this problem this is the first 13B injected engine I have worked on my 83 GSL has a 12A an she has never given me any such problem.

 

to check the gauge operation, ground out the sending unit wire, it will bring up the guage to the max point. The sending unit is on the block just below and a little toward the front of the car under the oil filter. It is cylindricalish and has one wire going to it.
