I live in Reisterstown Maryland, just northwest of Baltimore and I need a mechanic that specalizes in RX7 (especially 1st gen).

My car is not running right and is not getting a complete burn (according to my mechanic who is really good, but not a roatary specialist). We have changed the needle valve, and float on the carb. blocked off some of the vacume hoses (going to the air cleaner) and done a tune up.

I still have a rough idle (although not as rough as before) and the car sometimes cuts off when I put in the clutch at lights. When I sit at lights the idle gets rougher and rougher too.

This wasn't a problem until the end of the summer when it just started happening. I have about 96 K original miles on the car. I use the car as my daily driver, so I need it to run reliably. If I can't get it running (without selling the farm) I may have to get rid of it and I really wouldn't want to do that.

Any suggestions, expecially the name of someone in my area, or within an hours drive, would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks...Bill

Hi Bill,

Rotary Performance in Manassass Virginia specialize in first and second generation RX7s. I know that is a good two hour dirve for you but it might be worth the trip.

Here is a link to their website.

Thanks! I'll keep them in mind and may even give them a call to see if they have any ideas they are willing to share with my mechanic up here.
