Thank you for your reply.
I have a factory service manual for 1985, and it appears to have a relay in the wiring diagram. What year did they add this relay to the 1st gens?
When I put power to the fuel pump (turn the ignition key on), it only registers 9.9 or 10 volts. What would cause the drop in volts?
I ran a wire directly from the battery to the fuel pump and the fuel pump works fine. Why the difference in voltages?

[quote name='j9fd3s' date='Jun 5 2005, 11:43 AM']they added the relay for 84. if you're only getting 10v at the pump, theres a voltage drop somewhere, perhaps the ignition switch? or the fuse? or the wires might be bad too

Thanks again.
I'll begin checking out the voltage drop.
I was going nuts trying to find the (non existant) fuel pump relay.
