Did you take the front pulley apart? I hope not . . .

If not, the white mark is the one you want to be lined up with the pin on the front cover. On the distributor, there is a little divot in the shaft (right above the gear) about 2mm diameter, and a matching bump on the housing right above that, and those two marks need to be lined up.

if you rotate the motor over clockwise (you are facing the front of the motor) the yellow (or white) mark is the first of the two.

back from the dead what about setting the trailing to begin with. inside the dizzy on the trailing plate there is marks what should this be set at for starters in the middle mark or what?

Reason being i locked my dizzy for my turbo project on my 12a cant get the car to idle for crap right now. The carb hat isnt hooked up so thats not the issue. i mean i can get it to start and feather it to life but runs rough as hell

you set the leading first, and then the trailing is set with by adjusting the trailing vacuum advance. the holes for it are slutted
