Hello everyone, this is my first post. A week ago my 85 wouldn't start so I checked if I was getting spark at the plugs and sure enough the two lowers weren't sparking. So a quick trip to the local Autozone and $25 later I have a new ignition coil and an RX7 that starts just fine. Until today that is, it wouldn't start again so I thought maybe the other coil now. But no, the same coil no longer works. what gives? Any suggestions on what the prob might be before I go buy another new coil? By the way, great website with loads of helpful banter.

i had one that fried a coil, it turned out the spark plug wires were bad. could also be that the coil they sold you was the wrong kind/style

The coil I just bought is a Wels C843 and the plugs are Denso. When you said you fried a coil and it turned out to be bad wires, did you mean the bad wires caused the coil prob?

no I had a cheap coil from auto zone Buy A brand name or you might get stuck on the side of the road at 10 at night like I did because of a cheap coil. and then pay for a big tow bill

ok, same problem again. I exchanged the coil that stopped working after a couple days for a new one and got new plug wires, put them all in and it worked for one day this time. any idea what might be causing this?
