I think my Cat is clogged?
#1
Above 5000 rpm's, my 1985 GS is hesitating and loosing power. I've checked compression and it's fine. I know the cats rob lots of power. On my last 85 I had a RB exhaust. I don't have the money for that right now and thought of cutting out the main cat and putting a straight pipe in.
I also must check the coils, igniters, plugs and wires. But I still wouold like to cut out the cat.

Try some laxative or fruit juice, it works good on humans. You might want to cut the dosage way down though cause cats dont weight as much.
Anyway, after giving it some laxative you might want to keep it outside cause when it gets unclogged its probably going to **** all over your house.

I hope that was a joke
same thing happened to me
I was considering a vacuum problem at the fuel pump, but after removing the gas cap and lines to charcoal canister it still would not rev.
I took it out on the hiway for a ~50 mile cruise which must have cleared out the cat, because after that it ran great again.
