ok, i just bought an 85 rx7- w/header and exhaust, pulleys, edelbrock 4 barrel (i just put on), and a holley fuel pump. it has the 12a and a 5 speed. the problem is it won't idle at all. the previous owner stripped all the pollution stuff off. could something have been removed that would effect the idle or maybe a fuel pump or filter problem.

sorry it will idle but at 3000 rpm. dies if i try to turn it down

 

Need more info, Like:

Was it running before you put the edelbrock on?

What carb was on before?

The emmisions removal wont effect it unless he forgot to plug something that was supposed to be plugged or run a hose to the wrong place. Go to the http://maz_tutorials.totalimmage.com/ emmissions tutorial and check it real good. That probably IS your problem.

 

it had a 650 dp holley on before and did the same thing
