You need more power.

And the flywheel must be locked. Use the Mazdatrix tool, or a piece of angle iron or 2x4 long enough to keep it from rotating (bolted into the holes in the flywheel), or just jam something in there (not recommended but I did it and it worked).

To get mine off we ended up with a 20" breaker bar on the nut and my dad standing on the end of the bar and jumping on it.

A big nasty impact wrench is the real answer.

The trouble with those things is they are torqued to 75 ft-lb or so and have a whole whack of red loctite on them, and have been that way for 17 years or more.

you need a breaker bar a jack handle and a large hammer. you either need to have it in gear or lock the flywheel

Depends if the engine is in the car or not.Mine I'll be talking off with the engine in the car so I can have someone hold on the brakes with it in gear while i reef the bastard off.It should work good that way.But if it is out already then you'll have to lock up the flyweel

You could break it loose like that, but then make sure you wedge the clutch down when you take it out and take the pulley off, otherwise you can cause some nasty problems up in there...
