well a month or two ago a guy at school saw my car and told me that he was planning on buying an 85 fb5 for 750 but it wouldnt start. he told me who had it so i found the guys address and went and checked it out yesterday and it was still there. the car is red, wont start, paint is dull, windshield is cracked but other than that it looks pretty good. there is woodgrain in the interior and seat covers so i couldnt see the seats. im thinking about making the guy an offer.

what would be the most likely no start reasons? im pretty sure that it turns over bc the kid told me the only problem was the fuel regulator or something

trailing ignitor? flooded? see if it has fuel and spark. if its got neither you're looking at something like the trailing ignitor. no fuel might be the pump, no spark might be the leading ignitor. if tis got both its prolly flooded

i talked to the owner today and he says that it wont start but will turn over. he says that it is getting fuel to the injectors but not through them i guess. he says that theres a part that he needs to make it work but he couldnt find the part so well see. he said he would take 1000 for it. what do you guys think? he says there are 215k on the car with the original engine so i will def be checking compression.
