Five-lug or otherwise
#1
Hey kids - it's the LS1 convert, got a question about my '85 - I want different wheels. Is a five-lug conversion available through salvaging something else? Perhaps a third gen's rear dif, carrier and axles would fit? And for that matter, I'm going to have to replace quite a bit on this car to make it truly mine, what years can I take from to put on this thing? I hear rumors of third gens having the same everything, only better! Thanks guys -

respeed offers a brake upgrade for the front. it allows you to install T2 4 piston front brake calipers and hubs. youll then be at 5x114(5x4.5) i have done this swap on my car and its farely easy to do. as for the rear, they also have a conversion for the rear in the works to use the T2 rear brakes. youll have to either buy new axles or have your redrilled. billy is great to work with. amazing customer service. he cant get you the 5 lug axles from moroso.
for a LS1 swap id sudgest a stronger rearend, maybe an 8.8?

No, no, no, I'm done with LS1 swaps unless I get my hands on a '79 Trans Am. I've just been working with and around F-bodies and I got this RX and I fell in love with the engine. This is a little off-topic, but I want to swap my 12A with an '86+ 13B. Found a core from a junk yard that they can't get to start, but will turn over. Who makes good housings? What about the rest of the parts I might need? Having worked as a parts manager in a collision shop, I doubt Mazda makes the engine parts anymore. Thanks kids -

actually mazda makes all the parts still, except for things like gaskets and seals, they are the only ones who make stuff.
putting a 13b in a 12a car is really simple, you need a 12a front cover, 13b 1st gen oil pan (mazda has em new still..), and racing beat makes a front cover bracket....and its in
