Im in the process of disassembling my engine and i just got an air compressor to run my impact wrench. I was trying to take the bolt for the eshaft pulley off but it is REALLY stuck - i mean my impact wrench puts out 400 foot pounds of torque and it didnt budge it AT ALL! WTF is holding it on there!?!?!? the pulley is rusted a little bit so i thought it might be rusted on. I hit it from different angles several times with a screwdriver and a hammer and then tried the impact wrench again but still nothing. Im going to spray a bunch of WD40 in there and let it soak overnight and see if it will come off then. any ideas if that still doesnt work? thanks in advance.

I had trouble removing one last winter; impact wrench wouldn't budge it. I rotated the engine so the pulley was facing upwards, and filled the pulley area with penetrating oil. A week later the bolt came free no problem... Patience and/or a bigger impact wrench are in order.

well i went and bought some penetrating spray, but before i used that i turned up the compressor pressure (say that 10x fast ) 10psi and voila - it came right off .
