With any aftermarket steering wheel you need a boss kit to attach the new steering wheel to the car because the original wheel uses one centre nut, where the a/m ones use 6-8 hex screws normally. Whatever you do, don't hit the wheel with a hammer to get it off, you'll wreck the collapsible steering shaft costing you $$$$$.

Part #3597 is the RX-7 Kit for 80-85. $14.99us Partsofamerica.com or go to grantsproducts.com and it will give you the exact goodies for your style Wheel. Thats where I found my kit and it worked perfectly.

Drifter is right on about the hammer thing. Pullers are $7.00 Gear Boxes are $550.00+ plus 5hrs of labor. Do the math.

Good Luck

On my last car I just grabbed on the wheel and forced it from side to side and the thing slid off after a little force. I love custom wheels.

yeah usually you loosen the nut and gently pull the wheel side to side and it will pop off

Loosen the nut, but not all the way, or if its stiff, you'll smack yourself in the nuts/head with the wheel as it pops off from the force.
