I've just recently done some work to the car - replaced fuel filter and tank sending unit. It had a big loss in power, managed to drive it home and it wouldnt start again. Found out there was no spark on the trailing wires. Both solenoids where fine so went to a wreckers and got another distributer. Now I have spark on both leading and trailing and there is sufficient fuel flow. The car now starts but shuts off again after 2 seconds. I've checked for vac leaks and cant seem to find any. All these symptoms I believe point to some sensor getting an improper message but I cant seem to pinpoint it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did it run okay before you did the work?

MAF plugged in?

If it was the MAF i don't think it would work at all but then again i could be wrong. I think 88's on the right track though, try and check that everything is plugged into its proper place and fits snugly. Also make sure you did not flood the engine. those would be the first two things i would check.

Make sure everything is good on the electrical connection.Even slight corrosion can lead to big headaches on these cars.Report back if the problem persists.

Thanks for all the input. Managed to figure out what the problem was. The MAF was stuck shut... due to oxidization and gunk. Got it clean and she now runs right Have to set the timing but that will be tomorrow. Again, thanks for all the input.
