84 Gsl-se 13b Into 85 Gsl Swap
#1
I'm swapping a 13b from a 84 gsl-se into a 85 gsl and need some help since I'm new to rotaries and a task of this size. Can I use the 12a's driver side wiring harness on the gsl-se 13b? If not, what is the easiest way to disconnect the driver side engine harness from the gsl-se since there are connectors everywhere under the dash and how does the dash come off? I have a Haynes manual but it seems very insufficient in explaining how to remove the dash among other things. Will the gsl fuel lines handle the increased pressure of the fuel injected pump? Plus, what parts can be interchanged between the 12a and the 13b? Also, what are some good sites to explain or a walk-through on swapping a 12a out for a 13b?

you basically need to just drop the front subframe with the engine on it, and swap cars. all the wiring is different, between a gsl and a gsl-se. the dash comes out real quick, theres 4 bolts by the radio, 2 on each side by the doors, and 3 on top, then the whole mess comes out as one unit.

Yeah, taking the dash out will help. Make sure you have an offset 10mm wrench.
When I did mine, I reused the harness on the driver's side of the engine bay, and brought in the SE harness that runs from the ECU to the engine. I had to fab a couple of circuits, but that is what the wiring diagram is for...
