look 3 thread up there was a guy doing a cosmo transplant.

there is some good stuff in there it covers most of the mods required and some good troube shooting fixes.

its helped me a lot so far with my cosmo engine to first gen transplant.

welcome.

of course it can be done. there are several REW-powered Gen I cars out there. your issues will revolve on three main things:

1. who's doing the work?

2. how you plan on mounting the motor?

3. what engine management will be used?

obviously, doing the work yourself is best for several reasons - cost being one of them, but it sounds like you may not be there just yet. you can mount the engine using a Gen I front cover (simple) or using a custom subframe/cradle (more complicated). lastly, i'd suggest aftermarket, but some people have fought through the headaches of wiring up the factory ECU. it's all up to you.

good luck.

What sort of cost is involved in undertaking this type of project assuming that the rolling stock is good. I have an 84 GS with GSL suspension, etc with 133K miles. Is it worth considering for my car?

Thank you,

You will need to swap out the front cover and oil pan then I suggest going with a aftermarkest ecu

I did my conversion in 2001. Oil Pan and Front Cover was changed, my car being RHD I had a custom turbo manifold built as the turbo would touch the steering box. LHD cars won't have that problem.

You can run the stock ECU but I recommend go with an EMS.

The key is getting the right person to do the job.
