1985 RX7 GSL Ignition Problem
I have an 85 rx .. it's a GSL 101k miles and a Holley double pumper carb
I just got the car, and it is running pretty good. Had to open the idle mixture screws up to get it that way. they are all one full turn and vacuum is a little low
However when i had a vacuum tester hooked i had a bouncing needle..
I'm thinking it's a bad ignition..
When I checked it everything is opposite I believe the coils to the dizzy are both backwards.
The front coil towards the headlights is going to the trailing on the dizzy.. and the bottom - leading plug wires are going to trailing on the dizzy ..
I'm not sure how to fix this other than switch everything and re-time it.. hopefully it will start up when I do this.

Re: 1985 RX7 GSL Ignition Problem
ok
I switched everything back to the way it should be, and timed the L1
now it is running very rich.(black exhaust smoke)
it had a Low bouncing vacuum and that is still no better
anyone have advice?
