I replied to your e-mail already. You can see a 1st gen with an FD motor at http://www.rx7s.com .

Look at Romeo's GSLSE.

The GSLSE came with a 13B. Your 12A has its mounts at the front, but the 13B REW has mounts on the rear housing. The usual way to overcome that is to make a cradle for the engine to mount to. Then you can weld/bolt the cradle to the frame.

You'll have a good amount of space to work with, but I'm not 100% sure if the stock twin turbos will fit. You'll need to run an electric fan, unless you want to make your stock fan clutch work on the FD motor. Don't forget a front mount intercooler.

this is from Racing Beat.com in the catagory selection choose engine and it will be at the bottom

Front Engine Mount -13B engine into a 12A Chassis

Part Number: 11832

Retail Price: $85.00

Qty:

Front Engine Mount (13B into 12A RX-7 chassis)

This Front Engine Mount allows any 1974-85 13B engine to be installed into any 12A RX-7 chassis with a minimum of difficulty. (The stock Mazda front engine mount for a 1984-85 13B GSL-SE will not work because of differences in the front cross member.) When used with the 1984-85 GSL-SE 13B RX-7 oil pan, this mount greatly simplifies installation.

Or you can go to the wrecker and buy the GSL-SE crossmember and use the 12a front cover and mount.Mine I replace the crossmember seeing as the crossmember was only $75.Just beware the rusty bolts!Heres a page that might interest you. It's the Turbo II swap. But with a bigger turbo you run more power.12a-13bt Swap Page!He even put prices and wiring up on the page.
